Look at me, would you, please?
As a photographer, I have this problem a lot and think that Tim would too.

Tim and Kon have been dating for, oh a few months, and Tim is still riding cloud nine. For once, everything is perfect and he's got exactly what he's been dreaming of. Kon, on the other hand, is starting to have second thoughts. Not because he doesn't adore Tim, but because Tim's got a bad case of the roaming eye.

Every time, every single time they go out without masks on, Kon notices Tim's eyeing everyone around them. He stares at asses, watches the curve of boobs, follows the movements of legs, and generally pays attention to everyone but Kon.

In reality, Tim's staring at the way fabric moves as people walk, watching the play of shadows over chests, following the line of different types of walks, all while focusing entirely on what his boyfriend is saying. It's a unconscious thing from the artist in him, trying to learn more about the way the world interacts with itself.

He just doesn't realize how it looks to Kon.

Cue drama and Super-angst. Possibly Tim-angst too.

Re: Look at me, would you, please?
I'm a little bit in love with this prompt. Especially the subject line - I can practically hear Kon saying it, his voice rough and kind of desperate and intense, and Tim just doesn't get why Kon looks so pained, why his eyes look so sad...

Re: Look at me, would you, please?
Does that mean you're taking it? *wink wink nudge nudge* If not, I'll take it lol.

Re: Look at me, would you, please?
I maaaay take a stab at it in the future, when I'm not already working on, like, three other fills. XD

But you should totally go for it! Multiple fills are completely allowed, and one of the things I love most about memes is people's different interpretations of prompts. Plus, your costume!kink fill was awesome! :D

Re: Look at me, would you, please? (Fill) 1/2
I have this problem too
Kon has needed interaction to understand since he was created. Kon needs contact to understand the world. Growing up in a tube, away from contact, has left him starved. Human contact, touch, feel, interaction. He needs it to understand, to reaffirm.

Kon loves Tim (loves the touch, the feel of him), and Kon is pretty sure Tim loves him back. There are times when there isn't a doubt in his mind that Tim is his and loves him and will stay by his side (where Kon can feel him move, breathe, can feel his heart beat and his breath puff). But that's only when Tim is Red Robin.

When Tim is Red Robin, Kon doesn't see the roaming eyes, the focused intensity, the piercing gaze focusing elsewhere. When Tim is Red Robin Kon can hope, pretend, assume, decide that the beautiful, blue-eyed boy (teen? man?) is his.

But when those eyes are open and wide towards the world, when Tim is Tim , Kon isn't so sure.

It seems like Kon speaks and Tim isn't there (he can't feel him, his eyes, his focus, his interest). His eyes are tracing the line of a stranger's neck (Kon can hear the ways he could break it), following the movement of stocking-covered legs (Kon hears the fabric rip under his hands as he throws the person far, far away from Tim), observing the movement of someone's lips (Kon can hear the blood flow past them should he give into the urge to punch, a Superboy punch, not a Conner punch).

It makes Kon angry. It makes Kon scared. It makes Kon feel things that he wishes he's never felt (disappointment, jealousy), things that someone in his line of work can't afford to feel (uncertainty, self-doubt, insecurity). It makes Kon feel things with such intensity, with such focus that it physically hurts.

So Kon does the only thing he can do, the only thing he knows he can do. He reaches out and pulls one of Tim's impossibly thin and delicate hands into one of his own large, bulky, strong ones(Kon can hear the bones move, Kon can hear himself breaking this arm, Kon can see himself causing this person pain, without ever even meaning it) , fingers gently wrapping around the smaller one (Kon can also hear the swift movement of air if this hand should ever decide to bring harm, Kon can feel the pain this hand can bring).

"Tim?"

The motion doesn't bring the feeling of those eyes back, it doesn't bring Tim back, the feeling slips away out of his fingers (avoiding his eyes, turning his face away, sliding out of his arms, not touching at all, gone for almost a year).

Re: Look at me, would you, please? (Fill) 2/2
Tim has been a photographer since he could see. All the world (worlds) is his set, its peoples are his models. Every movement is a possibility, every thing is a subject waiting to be captured, and every moment is precious.

Tim supposes that last part is more true for him, he's never been more aware of something more in his life.

The sound, the perfect (rough, low, stumbling, chattering, undulating, warm) voice of his Superboy flowing into his ear. The Superboy who was gone, who saved the world, who brought his brother back to him. His. He lets that voice wash over him, flow through him, wrap around him. He blinks his eyes and can picture a shutter blink.

He watches in ways he can't when he's Red Robin. When he's Red Robin he can't focus on how beautiful the light plays on the street when the Batmobile flies by. When he's Red Robin he can't trace the lines of Nightwing's body as he launches off into the night sky. When he's Red Robin he can't wonder at the spray of blood that bursts from a man's skull at the twitch of the Red Hood's fingers. When he's Red Robin the destruction Superboy leaves behind after a fight can't be found awe-inspiring.

But when he's Tim (when he's the little boy that had parents, when he was the little boy who followed Batman and Robin's shadows, when he wasn't wanted by the Demon's Head, wasn't cast out of his city, wasn't alone, when he hadn't lost the world and his father and his name and the brother and home that came with them) he can love the world. If not love the world, appreciate it's stark beauty.

He watches the pattern pattern the flickering lights make on a man's pulse, watches a bead of sweat trail down the curve of his neck. The shutter clicks as Kon's voice drips down into his core, filling a void he doesn't think will ever be full, a void he didn't think he'd ever have. Tim can see Kon pulling him out of that darkness, into the warmth.

He captures the shadows of a woman's legs as she walks out of the store, he dyes the picture in grayscale to bring out the subtleties of her muscles. He adjusts the light while Kon's voice lilts and deepens with emotion. Tim can see Kon rocking him to sleep, easing him out of black and white nightmares.

He preserves the tug of teeth on lips, the flicker of a tongue on an indecisive costumer. He lets the image brighten and fade around the edges, focusing into some sort of tunnel-like vision as Kon's voice draws closer to him. Tim can see Kon expanding his view from towering buildings, smog, and street scum to open skies and vast, rippling plains.

Tim captures the moments around him, when he's Tim and Red Robin, like he expects the world to end. He does. Kon has left him once, saved the world but left him, what's to say that the world won't ask of it again? So Tim lets that voice wash over him, soothe him, feed him, lull him into some sort of security. He drowns in it because he knows that when he's Robin he'll starve and wither. He'll turn into black and white and withered Polaroids with no focus but on the dark and the irregularities. He drowns in the voice of color.

He feels that warmth and color flood into him when Kon wraps his hand around his. Kon's hand is large and strong and careful (he can feel that hand breaking him, supporting him, loving him, then cold and dead and gone) as it covers his own (he feels the phantom blows his body can do without his conscious will, he can feel the strikes it can give, he can feel the ingrained reactions to maim, to stun, to hurt).

"Tim?"

His eyes pause the scene, not to capture the moment, but to stop the image of that hand (his hand) covered in blood (Kon's blood) as they (the world) take the color away again.

Re: Look at me, would you, please? (Fill) 2/2
God, this is haunting. So desperate and yet full of love, and the descriptions you used, the language, it was so intensely beautiful. Tim translating what he sees through his artistic sensibilities, Kon's memories of breaking Tim's wrist, it was all just gorgeous!

Oh, oh, this is LOVELY. You can feel Kon's frustration and fear, and Tim's descriptions are just perfect.

I'm so thrilled that you answered my prompt, and it so darn good I wish there were more!

Re: Look at me, would you, please? (Fill) 2/2
Your prompt was so amazing. How could I possibly resist? I kind of want to play with this idea more, but maybe after I figure out how to make my lj work (sulkface).
IDK I work best with angst haha.

If you're having problems with LJ, I'd recommend Semagic.
http://semagic.sourceforge.net/index.html
It's a program that helps you format LJ posts, and you can preview and upload them when you're ready. It can be a little confusing but once you're used to it, it makes everything SO much easier. :)

Re: Look at me, would you, please? (Fill) 2/2
oh this is so good.:0 I love how kon loves tim, but his insecurities are getting the better of him. I love how he keeps flashing to what he could do to harm(and then tim a little too at the end of his). How badly he wants tim to pay attention.
And Tim's just broke my heart. How angsty he is, how afraid he is of losing kon. how in love he is, how he lets his voice wash over him. But he is still noticing every beautiful thing around him.
Oh these boys. they break my heart in the best way.

I love your description of how Tim takes such comfort from Kon's voice. Such a beautiful vibrant fill. I got that ache in my chest that only comes from well-written angst.

Fill: The Art of Looking
So I know that it was already filled, but I'd already started writing mine when the fill was posted, and I truly loved the prompt so I decided to continue.

This is much too long to post here, so here's the link:

Tim may not take photographs anymore, but the art of looking at everything and everyone in search of a shot is ingrained into him. What he doesn't realize is how it looks to Kon, who sees Tim looking at everyone but him.

Re: Fill: The Art of Looking
Excellent!

I am beyond pleased that this got two fills, and you, my dear, gave the extra joy of having the boys talking about *feelings*.

Do you know how much I enjoyed that?

Two thumbs way way up!
