Questions & Discussion
This is the place to ask questions, put forward ideas and generally discuss the meme.

If you have any issues, such as needing an incorrectly posted comment deleted or wanting to add a title to a fill you created that is currently marked Untitled, let me know here. If I have made any mistakes or something seems confusing, I very much welcome comments about it here so I can correct or clarify as appropriate.

Because this meme is a little different from other memes, I’ve prepared a few answers to questions I imagine people may have (and questions I was asking myself as I put this journal together).

Why not just make a general DCU meme?

Well, for starters, there already are general DCU memes (there are several listed in the pimp post). Also, as I mention in the top post on this journal, the DCU canon is split up into different groups and the fandom is much the same. This means a huge array of people with very different tastes. By keeping each prompt post narrowed down to a specific character/pairing/title, I’m hoping to keep interest focused and therefore keep the meme more active and easy to navigate.

When will the next prompt post be and what will it focus on?

At the moment, the schedule is a new prompt post every two months.

As for themes, I’ll be opening up a poll at the end of each two month cycle with several options and the most popular idea gets the next prompt post. I’ll likely be taking suggestions in the future as well.

Should I friend/watch this journal?

It’s completely up to you. I will be posting updates here letting people know when it’s nearly time for a new prompt post or if I’ve changed anything significant in the way the meme is set up. So if you want to be up-to-date, feel free to watch this journal. Although I will be joining communities (meaning there's an easily accessible list of DCU comms on my profile page), I won’t be watching any personal journals, since this meme is supposed to a neutral playground for DCU fans, rather than my own personal space.

Is there anything I can do to help the meme thrive?

Yes! Any and all help is appreciated. Prompt. Fill. Comment on other people’s work (supporting others makes them more likely to keep prompting and filling). Start discussions here or recommend your favourite canon works at the recs and resources post. And please, please pimp the meme to anyone you think might be interested. Any other offerings, like tips or banners, will be dearly cherished.

Is there a Delicious page for this meme?

Not yet. But if there's demand for one in the future, I'll look into setting one up. Unfortunately, I won't be setting one up until either the recent changes and glitches at Delicious have been addressed or a different bookmarking site is able to offer a better option.

My comment has been screened - what should I do?

Unfortunately, even though this journal is set to accept all anonymous comments, it still occasionally screens them. This could be because there's a link in your comment that leads to a site not on LJ's "safe list". Try reposting the comment, but taking the 'http' and 'www' parts off of the link. Frustratingly enough, it doesn't tell me a comment has been screened when it lands in my inbox. If reposting the comment as above doesn't work, just comment on any post saying "there's a screened comment in [whatever post]" and I'll unscreen it as soon as possible.

For anything not answered above, I'm just a comment away.

What if you decide to fill two prompts with one fic? (or it accidentally turns out that way?) Do you post it below each prompt with a note that it's found somewhere else as well or choose a prompt to file it under or is that not allowed?

Oooh, interesting question. I have no problems with a fill being applicable to more than one prompt. However, on the fills list I want to keep each fill listed only once to avoid confusion.

So, if you don't mind, could you choose which prompt you want the fill officially listed under (maybe the one you started the fill for or the one it applies to most). Post the fill under that prompt (feel free to add a note explaining it also applies to another prompt) and reference the prompt you've replied to in the Report Your Fills post. But feel free to then add a link to your fill under any other prompts it applies to, letting the prompter know that you've written something that works with their prompt.

Hope that helps, and thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm going to add this to the rules post now. :)

Hahaha, that's me, just trying to be difficult, lol. Thanks for coming up with an answer! And if I botch it up when reporting/posting it, just let me know. :)
