The End
The End - Night One

Jason brushed his son's head with a comb, straight back like how he's always prefered. In three days he'll call Bruce and tell him has to pick up someone, his son, not Jason's, but Bruce's.

Damian humphed in his lap as Jason worked out a tangle. For a five year, Damian was pretty demanding on how he looks. "Can't you go any faster, Dad?"

Jason smiles as sling the tyke on his back and started to tickle the boy on his sides. Taking delight as the playful punches and kicks as Damian screamed out that he was going to put a bug in Jason's shoe as retribution, which made Jason pull up the kid's Batman pajama top and blow raspberries on his stomach.

"STOP! STOP! DAAAD! DAAAAAAD! STOP!", Damian cried out.

Jason released Damian from his clutches, "Fine. Fine, that's what you get for being impatient about your hair."

Damian scowled before dropping to a more somber expression, "Will I still be able to call you 'Dad'?"

Jason knitted his eyebrows in thought. Talia gave him Damian as a baby and the baby was created from Jason and Talia's DNA behind their backs. However while Jason had second guessed himself on Damian's paternity, he never stop seeing the little guy as his son. He wondered if that what Catherine, his mother, thought when she first saw him as a baby. Despite that it crushed his heart when he found that Damian was the son of his father, the one who adopted him, Bruce Wayne.

"Not gonna look good, Baby Bat." Jason said solemnly, "Better if you just say we're brothers."

"But you're not my brother, you're my dad", Damian scowled again, damn the kid is Bruce's.

"I don't make the rules. Now let's get you into bed." Jason shifted his weight to crouch down. Grabbing a hold of Damian and carrying Damian like a bride.

"I don't want Bruce Wayne or Batman as a dad, I don't want Robin or Nightwing as brothers. I just want you.", Damian whined as Jason's heart dropped.

"And I wish I could take care of you...."

But what? Jason could have used the savings that he still has when he confronted Bruce to give Damian a comfortable life, but that money wasn't clean and wasn't earned honestly. He wasn't going to give Damian the father he had the first time. Even if he had to get the neighbor's babysit Damian, Jason was working an honest job and spent nearly all his time on son, but the money only got him a small apartment, one bed, necessities a dated laptop, and a few meager other luxuries.

"Why can't you?!" Damian screamed as he grabbed fistfuls of Jason's shirt as he was put down on the bed.

Jason sat down on the bed and rubbed the kid's back, "Because you deserve more than this. I know it's upsetting, but trust me it's better this way. I love and care about you, Damian."

Damian relented and scooted up to top of the bed and got himself settled under the covers. Jason followed suit, he had to chuckle at the memory of a four year Damian, demanding that they NOT get a second bed despite Jason manipulative tactics. How funny that if he had bought one that it'll go unused and lonely within the next year.

Jason placed a kissed on Damian's forehead as he pulled out a book and began to read out loud to Damian as a good night story, "There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me...."

Damian fell asleep in ten minutes. Jason put down Pride and Prejudice and tried not to tear up at thoughts of their departure from one another. No matter what, Damian would always be Jason's son.

The End
The End - Day 1

"Baby Bat, you awake?"

Damian grumbled at the intrusion. "...5 more minutes."

"Nope~! Can't do that, Baby Bat, you have to wash your monster face, get dress, finish your math worksheet before we can go eat at the diner for breakfast and go see the circus."

Damian perks up and slowly pushes his sheets aside, "The circus?"

Jason smirked, "I scrapped up enough precious loot to get ourselves tickets."

Damian blinked, "Okay, but you have to make my hair spiky and shiny. And I get to wear my yellow hoodie!"

Jason got himself out of the way as the kid scrambled to the bathroom, he called out after the kid "Math worksheet too."

Jason huffed as walked over to the cheap dresser and pulled out the cherish yellow hoodie for Damian. He noted to himself that he better checked over Damian's worksheet because an "excitable" kid means "not solving algebra problems as they should" kid and Jason took pride in that Damian was brilliant child who would end up skipping atleast a few grades of school when he'll enroll.

Jason pulled on a pair of blue jeans and a red hoodie. He needed to atleast prepare Damian for his future siblings and he might as well start with the eldest. Tomorrow, was going to be the youngest's and he admitted he wished he knew more about his adopted sister to help Damian understand her background, but well that's life.

Damian pounced onto the bed behind Jason, "RAWR!".

"No playing Housecat on the bed Damian, you might break something or it might break you."

"Will I meet, Catwoman when I go to the Manor?" Damian pulled himself across the bed using only his arms before tumbling off the other side, picking himself up, walking to the dresser and grabbing what he deemed suitable attire for the day.

Jason combed his hair, giving the white streak a long look before deeming his hair good, "She'll be like another mother to you if she likes you and I think she will. You like cats, she likes cats. Perfect match".

Jason turned to help Damian getting his clothes on, the kid could do many things despite his age, but he was still 5. "Okay, go finish your math."

Damian pouted before stomping off to the coffee table where Jason set up a worksheet with 10 problems and pencil. He collapsed in front of it and labored away like it was the most despicable thing on Earth.

Jason chuckled before deciding to make himself a cup of coffee. He didn't know what he'll do when the kid goes. Maybe become the Red Hood once again? Try to awkwardly rejoin the family? It'll be different without someone to take care of.

Jason stirred his freshly made coffee and taking the first sips as Damian snorted, stood up and clomped over to Jason with the worksheet in hand. Jason just hoped someone else will give the kid lessons in intimidation because he sure failed.

Jason took the paper Damian was holding up, "Okay, I'll check this right now while you go grab that gel you like, put your shoes on -remember the bunny song-, I'll spike your hair and we'll go."

And Damian did just that, humming himself a song as he tied his shoes. Jason looked over and other than forgetting a negative sign, the kid had a cleared 100% on his math work.

Damian turned his head towards Jason, "Yea, Dad."

"Just remember to look out for negative signs, good job regardless, I'll give you a harder one tomorrow."

Damian frowned and Jason chuckled. That kid is going to have a world of fun the next 13 years if Bruce enrolls him in a school. Which Jason hopes he does, Damian needed to enjoy childhood and associate with more kids than just the downstairs twins.

Jason crouched before, open the gel, and rub his gelled hands through Damian's head. "Hey maybe you have a mo-"

"No mohawks, Dad! Those are not cool!" Damian protested.

"Mohawks are always cool."

"Only if you're from the 80s!", exclaimed Damian.

"Fine. Fine." Jason backed off there was no messing with a child who was bred to be on several covers of GQ magazine.

Jason studied his work, "Okay we're ready for our stroll about town, single ladies and gentlemen watch out, two hip young dudes are going to have a pancake feast with strawberry syrup and whipcream and then go see Haly's circus."

"You're an embarrassment, Dad."

Re: The End- op here
Oh my goodness- you have no idea how disoriented I am from having someone actually fill one of my prompts. That never happens... and to add to all the confusing emotions you had to make part 1 just the tinsey bit heart-breaking.

Good start man, keep up the good work!

Re: The End- op here
I know that feeling (I was just squeeing for joy a few hours ago), OP.

And thank you, somber and a bit heart breaking is what I like to write. It's easier when the mood music is from a scene in a media that made you cry and continues to make you tear up (this one is Bejeweled City background music from Legend of Mana... which never fails to make me cry).

Anyway, part 4,5,6 are coming up eventually. They might be a delay since I am starting school on Monday.

The End
The End - Night 2
Jason's arms were stretched a big elephant plushie, a big lion plushie, a clinging mass of a child who just had a sugar crash 20 minutes ago, and a bag full of small souvenirs.

"Okay, Damian we're home." Jason breathed with a sigh of relief as he bent down to drop Damian onto the floor.

"Already?" Damian cringed as his feet hit the cheap vinyl floor. "Can I have my Lion?"

"Not until you remove your stinky shoes and get ready for your bath. Just because we went to the circus doesn't mean we have to bring it home with us", Jason stuck his tongue out.

Damian furrowed his eyebrows as he slipped off his tennis shoes (Jason noting that in a week or two Damian might need a new pair as his feet were outpacing the rest of him). Damian stuck out his tongue as walked into the bathroom, he made a half-hearted cartwheel as he crossed the threshold.

Jason put down the stuffed animals and bag. They will be sent with him to the manor. A part of the last reminder of Damian's time with Jason. Jason unlaced his boots and removed them, Damian was waiting for him as always.

Damian was kneeling in front of the tub running his hand in the water testing the water temperature, his dirtied clothes were in the hamper.

Jason took a big sigh at Damian, "Damian, when I said get ready I didn't mean fill the tub."

"-TT- You were taking so long I might as do it. Besides, you always made it cold."

"That's because I don't want you to get scalded and complain that the water hurt", Jason tested the water, perfect temperature, and picked up the five year and placed him in the water.

"Why did you buy the elephant, Dad?", Damian sat down in the water.

"It's present to your oldest brother from you. He likes elephants", Jason started to rubbed shampoo into Damian's hair, idly making a mohawk.

"The acrobat?" Damian wrinkled his nose.

"Yeah. Dick Grayson, Robin number uno, uno is Spanish for one remember, and now Nightwing. You can tell him that you thought he might like it because of Zitka." Jason grabbed the tumbler on the ledge of the bathtub and started to fill the cup up with bathwater.

"He won't like me. An elephant won't make him like me", Damian closed his eyes and covered his face with hands.

"Dick will take a liking to you, with or without elephant", Jason smiled as poured the warm water over Damian's head, washing out all the shampoo.

"I'm sure they all like you. You are very likable despite your fear of squirrels!" Jason grinned as he washed out all the shampoo.

"I am not scarred of squirrels!", Damian protested with a splash at Jason.

Jason grinned, "In other news, we have another big day tomorrow, art and science museum. We need to pick something up for your other brother there too."

Damian frown, "They're not my brothers. They're your brothers, Dad."

Jason's eyes darted away from Damian. It was a complicated mess. The whole Wayne family was a complicated mess and in a strange way Talia tried to fix it by tangling it up further.

"I don't want to go there if you're not coming", Damian wiped at his eyes.

"Damian, I just don't belong there." Jason rubbed circles into the shoulders of the upset child. He had a right to be upset, but it can't be stop. Damian deserved more. Deserved loving siblings. Deserved to see the world outside of their bureau of Gotham.

"AND I DO!?", Damian wailed out.

They sat in silence before Jason applied conditioner to Damian's hair and eventually finished giving him a bath.

Damian laid in the bed, curled up. Jason looked outside of the window, wondering if Batman passed by.

It didn't matter. The situation couldn't be stopped, the day after tomorrow Jason won't be Damian's father. With the way the family has acted towards Jason, he won't be Damian's brother either. They will never trust a family member who had killed. Never fully accept someone who craved vengeance and blood as deeply had he once has.
